The pool was designed with sloping sides to resemble a beach and incorporating a wave machine. The Centre also had a  gymnasium, squash courts and large halls suitable for conferencing, weddings etc.</p>
<p>No longer financially viable, the Centre was demolished for an ASDA store and residential tower.</p>
